On November 18, the power-concentrated EMUs and electric locomotives tailored by CRRC Dalian Co., Ltd. for Malaysia’s East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) rolled off the production line.
Designed with the core concepts of intelligent, high-end, and lightweight engineering, the EMUS are equipped with a train network control system featuring dual-redundancy protection, enabling real-time monitoring of the traction, high-voltage, and auxiliary systems. Their onboard fault diagnostics operate with millisecond-level response, providing a strong safeguard for operational safety. Structural optimization results in a lighter vehicle body, reducing energy consumption while improving operational efficiency. The EMUs feature a blue-and-white exterior livery, with ocean-wave graphics incorporating elements inspired by Malaysia’s native flora and fauna.
The electric locomotives offer high starting traction and wide constant-power range. They are equipped with intelligent human-machine interaction and safety protection systems which monitor the critical functions, including braking, fire prevention, and high-voltage insulation, with millisecond-level precision.
