On November 16 local time, the Juanacatlán-Observatorio section of the Mexico City Metro Line 1 modernization project, undertaken by CRRC, officially opened to the public, marking the full operation of all 20 stations along the line.

The modernization of Line 1 is CRRC's first overseas "system+" project, covering investment, financing, the manufacture of new trains, as well as comprehensive modernization of existing onboard communication systems, tracks, and electromechanical systems, in addition to full system maintenance. To ensure both operational safety and construction progress, the project adopted a segmented implementation plan. With the full reopening of Line 1 and the connection of Observatorio Station to the intercity railway, commuters now enjoy significantly shorter travel times and reduced transportation costs.

The NM22 trains developed by CRRC for Metro Line 1 feature comprehensive upgrades in safety, comfort, energy efficiency, and environmental performance. They are equipped with advanced CBTC system and intelligent operation technologies, and can operate at speeds of up to 80 km/h.
