CRRC Zhuzhou Institute-Supplied Wind Farms Win 42 “Outstanding” Awards, Nine Reach 5A
42 Wins, 9 at 5A: Reliability Proven Across China's Toughest Wind Conditions
The China Electricity Council’s 2025 benchmarking results named 42 wind farms supplied by CRRC Zhuzhou Institute as “Outstanding Wind Farms,” with nine—including Ningxia Guaguashan, Beishanliang, Yunnan Qingshuigou, and Henan Shangcai—earning the top 5A rating. Several benchmark projects exceeded 99.9% turbine availability, while more than 20 supplied farms have won the award for multiple consecutive years. Spanning Northwest, North, Northeast, Central, and Southern China, these projects cover high-altitude, mountainous, plain, and Gobi conditions, proving broad adaptability and long-term stability.
High-Speed Rail DNA: How 99.9% Availability Becomes the Norm
Reliability starts with technology. CRRC Zhuzhou Institute has transferred three core high-speed rail domains—algorithms, devices, and materials—into wind power, with converters using self-developed high-power semiconductors. It combines a “zero-defect” philosophy with APQP4Wind, IPD-based quality control, a 5M1E digital manufacturing platform, and digital twin O&M to achieve “one turbine, one file” and full-chain quality traceability. Its PHM system, with more than 200 standardized models, predicts potential faults up to seven days ahead and minimizes unplanned downtime.
20 Years, One Mission: From Rail Transit to Ultimate Wind Reliability
2026 marks 20 years since CRRC Zhuzhou Institute entered wind power. What began as a rail-transit crossover has become a reliability-centered differentiated path built on devices, algorithms, and materials. Looking ahead, the institute says it will keep pushing performance and quality toward “ultimate reliability,” delivering more reliable, efficient wind solutions and contributing a distinctive “CRRC solution” to China’s high-quality wind power development.
