Standing tall in Gar County, Ngari, Tibet, the Datang Ali 60MW/300MWh energy storage station is the world's first independent grid-forming storage project at 4,000+ meters altitude.

Project Scale:

 1、Capacity: 30 storage units, storing 300,000 kWh per cycle.

 2、Daily Supply: 280,000 kWh to the grid.

 3、Annual Output: Over 20 million kWh of additional clean energy – powering tens of thousands of households.

CRRC's Technology:

Leveraging 60+ years of expertise in "algorithms, devices, and materials," CRRC Zhuzhou Institute provided the grid-forming energy storage system solution.

Commissioned in October 2024, operating on a "charge at low demand, discharge at peak" model.

2025 Milestone: Successfully passed an artificial short-circuit test in September 2025, validating millisecond-level frequency response and low-voltage ride-through capability.
