Liquid Sunshine Project (Green Methanol), Ordos
In the heart of the Mu Us Sandy Land, Ordos, Inner Mongolia – the world's first industrial-scale "Liquid Sunshine" demonstration project is taking shape.
Project Scale:
Investment: RMB 4.9 billion
Green Power: 400MW solar + 225MW wind
Output: 21,000 tons of green hydrogen + 100,000 tons of green methanol annually.
Core Technology:
The project utilizes CRRC Zhuzhou Institute's fully independently developed 1,200 Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzers, featuring:
High-performance electrodes with DC power consumption as low as 4.2 kWh/Nm³.
Wide regulation range: 25%-110%.
Millisecond-level dynamic response – perfectly matching fluctuating solar and wind power.
The Innovation:
This project pioneers the "Green Power → Green Hydrogen → Carbon Recycling" model, synthesizing methanol from CO₂ and green hydrogen – achieving resourceful carbon recycling. Upon completion, it will reduce standard coal consumption by 140,000 tons and cut CO₂ emissions by approximately 500,000 tons annually.
A game-changer for green chemicals!
