CRRC Zhuzhou Institute's Breakthrough: Self-Developed FAO Signaling System Powers Ningbo Metro Line 8
CRRC Zhuzhou Institute continues its commitment to innovation, developing advanced smart products and technical solutions to empower urban rail transit. Its primary subsidiary, Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric, has successfully deployed its independently developed signaling system – the "intelligent core" – for Ningbo Metro Line 8.
The system utilizes company's proprietary Fully Automatic Operation (FAO) product, tsafer-UC3000 FAO. Through seamless integration with rolling stock, integrated supervision, communications, and platform screen door systems, it achieve:
- Automatic train wake-up/shutdown
- Automatic train operation (including station stopping with precise alignment)
- Automatic overrun/underrun adjustment at stations
- Automatic door/platform screen door operation
- Automatic train departure
- Automatic turnback
- Sectional ultra-high water level alarm linkage with train holding
Those achievements ensure fully automated control throughout the entire train operation process, guaranteeing safety, orderliness, speed, and passenger comfort.
