Ningbo CRRC’s NACF-series current sensors provide high-precision current sensing solutions for full-power wind turbine converters, a core power conversion subsystem in modern wind energy generation systems.
In a typical wind power conversion chain, wind kinetic energy is captured by the rotor and converted into variable-frequency alternating current by the generator. The full-power converter executes bidirectional AC-DC-AC power conversion to condition the power output, which is then stepped up by a transformer and delivered to the distribution grid for industrial and residential end consumers. And Ningbo CRRC deploys dedicated current sensor products on both the generator side and grid side of the wind converter to enable full-loop monitoring and closed-loop control.
Engineered to withstand the harsh operating conditions of wind farms — including strong electromagnetic interference, wide temperature fluctuations and mechanical vibration — these current sensors deliver reliable long-term performance. They enhance the operational efficiency and safety of wind power conversion systems, and support improved wind energy utilization rates.
Generator-side application: The NACF.XXXJ-S5/V and NACF.XXXJ2-S5/V series are installed at the generator-side terminal of the converter. They accurately measure the variable-frequency output current from the wind generator and provide real-time feedback for generator torque control, maximum power point tracking (MPPT), and overcurrent protection of the generator-side power circuit.
Grid-side application: The NACF.XXXJ1-S5/V and NACF.XXXJ3-S5/SP2VN series are deployed on the grid side. These sensors deliver precise grid current measurement to support grid synchronization control, active/reactive power regulation, and fault ride-through (FRT) capability, ensuring the wind power system complies with grid codes and maintains stable operation when connected to the utility grid.
