“Toot——” With the whistling of Ziyang locomotives, the Railway Track Project at the East Coast of Malaysia started. It is the largest project of economic and trade cooperation between China and Malaysia.
On December 11th, Abdullah, head of state of Malaysia, attended the ceremony of the laying of the first section of the railway tracks of East Coast Rail Link (ECRL). Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport of Malaysia, Wang Tongzhou, Director of the Board of China Communications Construction Company Limited ("CCCC"), and Yang Wensheng, General Manager of CRRC Ziyang were also present at the ceremony.

ECRL, measuring over 600 kilometers in length, is regarded as a “land bridge” linking the east coast and west coast of Malaysia. It is a flagship project of the joint contribution of China and Malaysia to the “Belt and Road” Initiative. After its completion, it is expected to facilitate the economic development of the regions along the east coast of Malaysia and greatly improve the connectivity of its coastal areas.

At the ceremony, Ziyang locomotives whistle, marking the formal track-laying of the first section of the tracks of ECRL.

Export diesel locomotives made by Ziyang! Ziyang locomotives have won the favor of more and more countries and users. So far, CRRC Ziyang has exported over 1,100 diesel locomotives to 33 countries, accounting for over 50 percent of the total export volume of Chinese diesel locomotives. Over 95 percent of these locomotives are exported to the countries involved in the “Belt and Road” Initiative, playing an important role in pushing forward their construction and economic development.
