On February 29, Chen Zhixin, Chairman of the Company, paid a state visit to Sierra Leone's President Bio. The two sides shook hands cordially, exchanged ideas and drew a new chapter of China-Sierra Leone rail transportation cooperation.
President Bio hoped that CRRC Ziyang would actively participate in the construction of rail transportation in Sierra Leone. He highly appreciated the new AC transmission locomotives provided by CRRC Ziyang for Sierra Leone, "The new locomotives on line will be the beginning of the revival of Sierra Leone's railway, which will greatly enhance the efficiency of our ore transportation and play a demonstration role in other railway freight and passenger transport."
President Bio also kindly invited the Company's senior management to attend the new locomotive on-line ceremony and in-depth investigation of the Sierra Leone railway market.
Chen Zhixin thanked President Bio for the trust and support given to the Company. He said that although China and Sierra Leone are far apart, their hearts are closely linked. The 10 narrow-gauge AC transmission diesel locomotives with the world's highest power tailored by the Company for mineral resources transportation in Sierra Leone in 2023 are examples of speed and efficiency, technological innovation and breakthrough.
"We are willing to give full play to our own technical advantages and rich international experience, provide more advanced locomotive products and high-quality services to Sierra Leone, and contribute the wisdom and strength of CRRC Ziyang to local rail transit construction!" Chen Zhixin's speech struck a chord with the participants.
The Chief Minister and Foreign Minister of Sierra Leone, Zhou Li Vice-general Manager of the Company, etc. attended the meeting.
Before the talks, the Company was also invited to participate in the Sierra Leone Investment Forum to discuss cooperation models.
Up to now, CRRC Ziyang Co., Ltd. has supplied more than 200 locomotives of various types and more than 10 diesel multiple units to nearly 20 African countries, becoming the enterprise with the widest coverage and largest number of China's diesel locomotive exports to African countries.
