With the building of the first national railway line ’’Beijing—Zhangjiakou “, CNR Beijing Nankou Locomotive & Rolling Stock Machinery Works (Hereinafter referred to as Nankou Locomotive) was built in 1906. It was originally built by the pioneer of China’s scientific and technological circles—Mr. Zhan Tianyou. He was also a famous patriotic engineer, who was responsible to build this railway line. Nankou Locomotive has experienced four major periods, the Qing Dynasty, the Republic of China (1912-1949), the period of occupied by Japanese Troops, New China.

Nankou Locomotive had gone through several big changes on the production structure. At the beginning of establishment, its task is to serve the ‘Beijing—Zhangjiakou ’railway line, produce and maintain a variety of machineries and tools which were used to build the railway. In 1909 this railway line was open to traffic, then we began to provide the service of running this railway line, that is to be responsible for commissioning the imported locomotives and maintaining passenger and freight trains. In 1954, in accordance with the distribution adjustment requirements on the railway by MOR, Nankou locomotive shifted its task to produce the parts on the locomotives. The friction bearing was replaced by antifriction bearing in 1975, in order to meet this needs for antifriction bearing, several advanced machines were imported from Germany, Japan, U.S. The project of production the bearings of the freight train was financially supported by the ministry of Railway invest, which made important contribution to the development of the freight train bearings. Since 1980s, the production frame gradually took shape, in which the key products are railway bearings, fuel injection pump and fuel nozzles of the diesel locomotive, Dongfeng 4 drive gear and NPT5 air compressor, we have more than 600 categories of product, which connected with the running, brake, water supply and coolant system.

In the early period of 1990s, as production for the parts of the steam locomotive was not carried out any more, Nankou Locomotive began to manufacture the parts for diesel and electrical locomotive, strengthen the production capacity of the freight train bearing, as well. The total number of 1.388 million freight train bearing were produced by the end of 1994. In the middle years of 1990s, this product was produced in the joint venture with SKF, Sweden. In the final years of 1990s, Nankou locomotive developed new products, including air compressor, fuel injection pump and nozzle, which meet the needs of railway, “high speed, heavy load”; With the great support from China Northern Locomotive & Rolling Stock Industry (Group) Corporation, we realized the product “up to high level, up to high grade, up to high quality”.

In the late years, in order to meet the needs of the market, realize the healthily development, Nankou Locomotive developed the gear for electrical locomotive, screw air compressor, electrical fuel injection system, etc. Nankou Locomotive, one important locomotive parts production site, used to provide service for the operation of the “Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway line ”, produce the parts for steam locomotive, freight train bearing, diesel and electrical locomotive parts, nowadays its production structure has gradually become into producing screw air compressor and reciprocating air compressor, good performance drive gear, fuel supply injection system. Newly developed 0.075 – 60m3screw air compressor is widely used on all kinds of location, which can be specifically designed and provide the customers with air supply systems of many different specifications, good quality and performance according to different air volume. Nankou Locomotive covers an area of 0.96 million m2. Our capital is RMB500 million. We owned 1305 machines of different kind. Including, 98 sets of large-scale high precision machines and imported machines are 150 sets. Our equipment and machine are perfect; test method is advanced and reliable. All the products are fit for Chinese and foreign railways, city metro, oil fields, coal mine and other markets.
