20 Diesel Locomotives for New Zealand Delivered (Hit:4178)

On April 7, the second batch of CKD9B diesel locomotives (14 sets in total) developed by Dalian Locomotives & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd arrived on Dalian Dock in preparation for shipping. So far 20 largest narrow-gauge locomotives which are exported to New Zealand, one of the developed countries from China have all been delivered.

Under the contract the locomotives will be delivered in two batches. The first batch locomotives (6 sets in total) have been arrived in December 2010. At present, the trial test for the first batch of locomotives has almost been completed. The testing service mileage has been up to over 2,000 km and the locomotives have good indicators in terms of traction performance and braking distance, etc. during the test. With a good press from the Trade Union, drivers and testing engineers of New Zealand, the locomotives will be put into operation in later.

On the basis of the service conditions of the first batch locomotives, the second batch of locomotives have been modified in some functional parts and details to get perfect under the later requirement of New Zealand Railway. All improvements include refining the electric controlling system, upgrading the versions of locomotive control software in time to make the locomotive operation become more humanized and increasing the safety performance.
