  CRRC Datong Co., Ltd. has embraced a modular design concept and adopted international and domestic advanced standards. Through the three-step work process of "technology introduction", "digestion and absorption" and "independent innovation of key technologies", it has broken through and mastered the core technology of high-power AC transmission electric locomotives. As a result, the company has developed a comprehensive series of electric locomotives along with their essential key components.

  1.Electric locomotive system integration and commissioning technology

  We have mastered the design, manufacturing and testing technologies of heavy-duty bogies, high-strength vehicle bodies, ultra-large capacity traction transformers, high-voltage electrical devices and high-reliability electrical cabinets, and built a modular six-axle and eight-axle high-power AC transmission electric locomotive technology platform for both passenger and freight. We have not only mastered the core technology of electric locomotives and achieved a huge leap from the DC transmission to the high-power and AC transmission, but also stood at the forefront and leadership position in the field of AC transmission technology.

  2.Electric drive system integration technology

  The electric drive system can realize the system integration of different suppliers such as Alstom, Toshiba, Bombardier, and CNR, and has established an independent traction drive system technology platform with a single axle control, 3 optional intermediate voltages, water circulation cooling, and mature application. At the same time, the highly integrated auxiliary converter cabinet developed by the company has been installed and applied well in HXD2F locomotives, realizing the completely independent development of auxiliary converter technology

  3.Reliability design technology for heavy-duty bogies

  The technical research has been carried out on the drive system structure, driving gear and motor bearing force of bogie. We have established a wheel-axle drive system technology platform with reasonable structure, advanced technology, mature application and reliable performance. On this basis, 18t, 21t, 23t, 25t, 27t and 30t axle load bogie platforms have been built. The locomotives developed based on this platform are reliable in operation and have good bogie stability, gaining a good reputation among users.

  4.Brake system integration technology

  This technology has the ability to integrate braking systems from different suppliers such as Knorr-Bremse, Faiveley, and Westinghouse.

  5.Technology for building an autonomous network control system platform

  An autonomous network control system platform using internationally advanced TCN bus technology and Ethernet technology that complies with the IEC61375 series of standards has been established, and in-depth research on logic functions and coupling control has been conducted. At the same time, a microcomputer network function test bench was built and application layer software development research was carried out to achieve a complete mastery of the core technology of the network control system.

  6.Locomotive interoperability and simplified design technology

  Considering the interoperability and simplification requirements of locomotive interconnection design, operation, component interchangeability, maintenance and servicing interface, control logic, safety and living facilities, the HXD2F locomotive developed by the company is the first locomotive designed for interoperability and simplification among electric locomotives.

  7.Domestic substitution technology for maintenance products

  The technical research and product development of HXD2 locomotive traction converter, traction power module, auxiliary converter, auxiliary power module and locomotive control system have broken the monopoly of foreign companies on this technology and products, solving the problems of spare parts for online operation of HXD2 locomotives, as well as maintenance problems such as C4, C5 and C6. The domestic substitution technology of maintenance spare parts provides solid technical support for user maintenance.
