Product introduction

Technology Improved of HXD2 Electric Locomotive

The technically improved HXD2 electric locomotives represent the research achievements of CRRC's key project, Research on Performance Improvement of HXD2 Eight-axle Freight Electric Locomotive, and the systematic major project of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., In-depth Research on Technical Upgrading of Heavy Haul Railways. These efforts comprehensively and innovatively enhanced the HXD2 electric locomotive in terms of heavy haul adaptability, system simplification, reliability, technological upgrades, and adaptability to overhaul process reforms. The technically improved HXD2 electric locomotives are extensively applied to heavy-duty freight traction on railway trunk lines, effectively meeting the demands of China's railway heavy-haul transportation.

Application Scenario

At present, HXD2 technology-improved electric locomotives have been put into mass production. They are respectively allocated to China Railway Hohhot Group, Zhengzhou Group, Beijing Group, Chengdu Group, Lanzhou Group, Xi'an Group, Shenyang Group and Haolebaoji-Ji'an Railway Co., Ltd. The maximum safe operation of a single locomotive exceeds 500,000 km, and the total operating mileage exceeds 40 million km. The reliable performance of the locomotive has been fully recognized by users.

Key technologies

1.Based on the dynamic analysis and structural optimization of the system, the matching relationship between bogie suspension parameters and coupler buffer devices related to heavy-haul traction has been overcome. The coupler squeezing force bearing capacity of locomotive under heavy-haul traction condition is not less than 2000 kN, which significantly improves the operation safety and stability of locomotive.

2.By fully absorbing the achievements of technological progress in recent years and the experience of application in the depot, the locomotive has undergone an upgrade through the installation of standard braking systems, the enhancement of the network control system, and the optimization of rooftop equipment layout. These measures have facilitated the upgrading of the equipment and made key system components independently controllable, thereby significantly enhancing the locomotive technical level and operational reliability.

3.Based on the top-level design requirements for simplification and interconnectivity, and through the development of a train-level multiple operation protocol, simplified electrical and mechanical interfaces, mutual control functions, and display interfaces, the standardization of 65 items across 6 major aspects with the HXD1 technology-improved locomotive has been completed. This has enabled the interconnectivity and mutual control between the two locomotive models.
