700 kW Hydrogen-fueled Cell Hybrid Locomotive

  The 700 kW hydrogen-fueled cell hybrid locomotive is a low-power new energy locomotive designed to adapt to the service environment of stations and yards or other short-distance transportation (such as locomotive depots, rolling stock depots, marshalling stations, industrial and mining enterprises). The hybrid power supply mode of lithium-ion battery + hydrogen fuel cell system is adopted for the locomotive, and the braking energy can be recycled to realize green and energy-saving operation of the locomotive.

Application Scenario

  The 700 kW hydrogen-fueled cell hybrid locomotive is oriented to the station yard or other short-distance shunting operation conditions, and is suitable for detaching and attaching, light-load pulling out and pushing, rescue, and other working conditions in the depot or freight yard. With modular design, the locomotive can reach a maximum power output of 1,200 kW by adjusting axle load and power system composition, which can meet the operation requirements of diesel shunting locomotives with 1,000 kW power level.

Key technologies

  1.Hydrogen fuel cell hybrid power system: The first hydrogen-fueled cell hybrid locomotive in China features a power system composed of hydrogen fuel cells and lithium titanate batteries to achieve complete zero emission.

  2.Safety design: With the goal of personnel safety, vehicle safety and environmental safety, systematic safety design is carried out for power battery and hydrogen fuel cell system to ensure the safe operation of locomotives.

  3.Low-temperature performance: The design temperature of the locomotive meets the requirements for starting and operation at -30°C. After test and assessment, it meets the requirements of most application environments in China and foreign countries.

  4.Efficient energy management strategy: According to different operating conditions of locomotives and the matching of power systems, reasonable energy management strategies are formulated to improve the efficiency of each system and extend the service life of the system.
