CRRC Datong Co., Ltd. (CRRC Datong Company) is a first-level subsidiary of CRRC, one of the core bases for electric locomotive R&D, and China's first large-scale locomotive manufacturer established after 1949. It was founded in 1954.

At present, CRRC Datong Company is the leading enterprise in the high-end equipment manufacturing industry chain in Shanxi Province. It has a national-level enterprise technology center. Electric locomotive products and services of different power levels cover all areas of China's railway passenger and freight transportation. At the same time, CRRC Datong Company is also a supplier of core components for China's high-speed EMUs. It has developed various types of key components and technical services such as pantographs, high-voltage electrical devices, main transformers, etc., which are widely used in "Fuxing" high-speed EMUs and urban rail transit transportation equipment. Since 2021, CRRC Datong company has been actively implementing the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" strategy for the future. It has also successively developed hydrogen-powered locomotives and energy storage locomotives with different power levels, successfully upgraded traditional diesel locomotives to hydrogen power, and achieved pedigree and industrialization results in the development of new energy rail transit equipment.

It has successfully developed fully localized 100-ton, 200-ton and 300-ton electric transmission mining dump trucks, which can better meet the green development of global mineral resources and have now entered overseas markets. The first electrified highway and mine transportation system developed by the company has been commercialized in China, providing a "Chinese solution" for effectively solving the global technical problems of energy-saving and carbon-reducing highway transportation.
