"Electrified road" refers to the road that allows locomotives to be directly supplied or charged from the dedicated catenary to obtain driving power during driving by setting up an electric traction power supply system along the route.
Once an electric vehicle enters the power supply area, the pantograph automatically identifies the catenary erected on the road and lifts to touch the catenary. Once the vehicle leaves the power supply area, the pantograph automatically lowers and the vehicle switches to the on-board power battery drive. The heavy truck with this function is called dual-source intelligent heavy truck.
CRRC Datong Co., Ltd. has set up an in-house "electrified road" DC catenary to test advanced technologies such as dual-source intelligent DC power supply, intelligent pantograph and DC/DC cabinet for heavy trucks. By virtue of homemade core components, it has created many China's firsts in terms of technology and possessed the technical strength of platform-based development and serialization of products.
Electrified roads and mine transportation systems can further integrate permanent magnet, new energy, autonomous driving and other technologies, to widely apply to various road transportation applications such as coal enterprises, mines, power plants and coal logistics parks to help achieve the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality".
1.Special line transportation: Relatively fixed special lines for freight transportation, such as coal pithead to the transfer and collection center of the coal logistics park, port to the transfer and collection center of the coal logistics park, coal pithead to thermal power plant, port to thermal power plant or smelting plant, power plant or smelting plant to muck backfilling pithead.
2.Short hauls for collection and distribution: Short hauls for open-pit mining and transportation, and warehouse in coal logistics park, and transportation from port warehouse to railway trunk lines.

4.Economic indicators of application scenario
(1)Transportation distance: longer than 10km; the longer the distance, the more obvious the differentiated advantages of electrified roads;
(2)Transportation capacity: greater than 5 million tons/year. The larger the transportation volume, the more obvious the advantages of efficient transportation by electrified roads;
(3)Operation period: more than 5 years. The longer the operation period, the lower the amortized cost of infrastructure.
1.Dual-source intelligent heavy truck technology - environmentally friendly and efficient mobile charging, seamless balance between endurance and charging
The "mobile charging" of dual-source intelligent heavy trucks can effectively solve the two technical problems of "endurance" and "charging". When the dual-source intelligent heavy truck runs on an electrified road, it can directly use the power of catenary to travel, and the on-board power battery can be charged simultaneously. When the dual-source intelligent heavy truck overtakes or leaves an electrified road, it can be powered by the on-board power battery and travel as usual in the non-collector state. With diesel fuel replaced by electricity, "zero emission" of exhaust pollutants can be achieved, so that the problem of exhaust pollutants from diesel vehicles can be solved from the source.


2.On-board intelligent pantograph technology-intelligent bipolar combined drive, and three major innovations leading in China
On-board intelligent pantograph is the core device of electrified road transportation system, and makes contact mobile power supply technology possible. EHC30 pantograph of CRRC Datong Co., Ltd. is the first intelligent pantograph suitable for dual-source intelligent heavy trucks in China. The three core technologies of "bipolar pantograph structure design and multiple insulation reliability assurance technology", "vertical lifting/lowering and lateral swing combined drive technology" and "adaptive intelligent monitoring and control technology of catenary" are leading in China.
EHC30 intelligent pantograph is installed on the vehicle roof and used for current collection by DC1500V catenary, with a design speed of 100km/h. It consists of electric push rod, spring, pantograph arm and other articulated mechanisms. The electric push rod of pantograph is powered by the on-board power supply and has its own monitoring system to realize the adaptive intelligent control function of catenary.

3.DC/DC cabinet technology-simplification of energy control and two-way management of traction and braking
The DC/DC cabinet integrates the three core technologies of "interleaved three-level control", "current sharing and voltage sharing control" and "energy management control" to reduce the input 1500VDC voltage and supply power for traction inverter and battery. Under the traction condition, through operations in constant current or constant voltage mode, the catenary voltage is converted by DC/DC to supply power for the traction inverter and charge the power battery simultaneously. Under the braking condition, the electric energy generated by braking is quickly fed back to the pantograph-catenary through reverse DC/DC conversion, thus realizing the recycling of energy and achieving the effect of green energy conservation.

4.Catenary power supply technology: mature, stable, safe and reliable; three technologies are the first in China.
The catenary is subject to all-compensation simple catenary suspension featuring simple construction, mature technology, high reliability and convenience in construction and maintenance. It is easy to install, can stably and continuously provide electric energy to vehicles, has a good pantograph-catenary relationship, meets the requirements for maximum traveling speed of vehicles, and can operate normally under local climatic and environmental conditions. The curve radius of silver-copper alloy contact wire is 49.5m, which is the smallest in China; the independent return cable design is the first in China by giving consideration to both return current and electric erosion protection; the insulation potentiometer technology is advanced, safe and reliable, and is adopted for the first time in China.
