The CR120EV mining dump truck is a 120t battery electric mining dump truck independently developed by CRRC Datong Co., Ltd. The vehicle has a dead weight of 65t, a maximum speed of 45km/h and a maximum gradeability of 26%.
It utilizes a battery electric power system, featuring a rated driving power of 1200 kW and an 800 kWh high-capacity power battery. The vehicle features a three-axle design with a 6X4 distributed drive configuration. The front wheels serve as steering axles, while the middle and rear axles function as driving axles, effectively distributing driving force under extreme road conditions. This design endows the vehicle with strong power, exceptional obstacle-crossing capability, and the ability to navigate challenging terrain. This vehicle features distributed drive technology, delivering exceptional performance on slippery, muddy, and uneven pavements through optimal distribution of driving force and braking. It also adopts a modular drive axle design, allowing for interchangeability of drive axle of the vehicle. In addition, it incorporates an energy management system that controls battery charging and discharging reasonably, enabling brake energy recovery and saving energy.
The CR120EV mining dump truck is designed for transporting overburden, ore, and coal in large-scale water conservancy projects and open-pit mines. It operates in conjunction with excavators, loaders, belt conveyors, and other engineering machinery to create a shoveling and conveying production line. It is equipped with an all-wheel distributed drive and steering system, delivering exceptional performance on slippery, muddy, and uneven pavements.
1.Battery electric control and drive, ensuring high-efficiency energy conversion and zero pollution exhaust emission
The power battery provides energy for all systems of the vehicle. After rectification and distribution, it provides electric energy for the drive motor, delivering driving force to the vehicle through the reducer. At the same time, the electric drive system can recover braking energy to recharge the power battery, promoting energy savings. This vehicle generates no exhaust emissions during operation, fundamentally eliminating harmful pollutants associated with traditional diesel vehicles. Additionally, it allows for greater power output from the same amount of energy used;
2.Distributed drive design, offering robust driving capability and enhanced operation stability
The vehicle employs a 6X4 distributed highly integrated electric wheel drive mode, and a control system capable of precise four-motor cooperative control. This effectively addresses issues related to the inconsistency of response time and response rate among the motors. Additionally, the drive system can reasonably control the charging and discharging strategy of the battery based on the operation conditions of the mining truck, facilitating energy recovery and minimizing energy loss.
3.Modular and lightweight design
The power module assembly, drive unit, electric wheel assembly and hydraulic system are of modular design, allowing for separate and rapid disassembly for repair, and improving the maintainability and attendance rate of the vehicle;
Through finite element analysis of various typical operating conditions, the frame and carriage structure and appearance are optimized to realize lightweight of the vehicle.

The steering system features a full hydraulic steering coupled with a segmented trapezoidal steering mechanism that includes an intermediate swing arm. It is equipped with an emergency steering function, enhancing the safety and reliability of the system.
5.Highly integrated electric wheel drive, offering powerful, reliable, efficient and energy-saving braking capacity
The vehicle drive utilizes a highly integrated electric wheel assembly, allowing all wheels to provide braking force for the vehicle. This force is reasonably distributed under all road conditions to enhance the vehicle's braking capacity and ensure safety. The tire specification is less than that of rigid mining truck with the same tonnage, reducing the use cost of tires.
6.Excellent structural performance of frame provided by cast-welded combination design
The frame features a cast-welded combined box section structure, with key stress points designed as a cast structure to enhance strength and fatigue resistance, prevent stress concentration at the welds, and ultimately improve the reliability and service life of the frame.
7.U-shaped structure allowing for thorough unloading
Both sides of the bottom plate are of "U"-shaped structure, which reduces the overall weight of the carriage and prevents the adhesion and retention of goods in the bottom corner, allowing for more thorough dumping.
8.Reliable hydraulic system for quick response in steering, braking and lifting
The hydraulic steering system controls the steering cylinder to enable front-wheel steering. The power source employs a constant-pressure control variable plunger pump, ensuring rapid steering response;
The hydraulic brake system is equipped with a proportional large-flow brake relay valve to improve the flow performance of the brake system oil, thereby quickly providing braking pressure and improving the braking response speed;
The lifting system is provided with lifting power by the combination of the steering pump and lifting pump, enabling rapid lifting;
9.Intelligent driving system and refined interior design
The cab interior features a modern design with a high level of refinement, achieving a noise level of ≤ 76 dB to enhance overall driving comfort. It is equipped with an LCD instrument panel and an adjustable multifunctional steering wheel, facilitating precise control and efficient operation. Optional features include cruise control, an electronic monitoring system, an anti-collision warning system, and a millimeter-wave radar anti-collision system, all of which enhance driving safety and operational efficiency, providing comprehensive technical support for mine transportation.
10.A supporting charging system designed for quick charging, tailored to meet the personalized needs and adaptability of users
The vehicle can be optionally equipped with charging facilities to address the charging needs of customers' mining operations. Charging piles can complete charging in 40~50 minutes. A comprehensive evaluation can be conducted to facilitate personalized and adaptive design based on the customer's actual operation route, road spectrum, available space for charging stations, and the size of optional batteries.
