20t axle load coal hopper wagon for Tasmania is mainly composed of wagon body, bottom door mechanism, brake device, coupler and draft gear, low wheel/track dynamic force bogie, coal clearing device etc. There are 6 hoppers and 3 sets of bottom door mechanisms on the whole wagon, bottom door mechanism is a kind of touch point type transverse opening discharge mechanism, 1 set of connecting rod transmission mechanism controls opening and closing of 1 set of doors. Air brake device adopts AAR standard ABDX wagon air brake system; coupler and draft gear adopts AAR standard E/F top operated coupler, MT-2 draft gear.

The wagon is applicable for 1067mm track gauge in Tasmania Australia, running between Tasmanian railway Fingal and Railton by the modes such as fixed marshalling and cycle use, for transporting bulk goods such as coal.
