On August 10, the China Electronics Standardization Association (CESA) released 46 group standards, including five for the rail transit equipment manufacturing industry led by CRRC Assets Management Co., Ltd. The five standards took effect upon release, establishing a comprehensive evaluation framework spanning green supply chains, green factories, zero-carbon factories, workshops, and production lines.
The five standards are: Evaluation Requirements for Green Factories in Rail Transit Equipment Manufacturing; Evaluation Requirements for Green Supply Chain Enterprises in Rail Transit Equipment Manufacturing; Evaluation Requirements for Zero-Carbon Factories in Rail Transit Equipment Manufacturing; Evaluation Requirements for Zero-Carbon Workshops in Rail Transit Equipment Manufacturing; and Evaluation Requirements for Zero-Carbon Production Lines in Rail Transit Equipment Manufacturing.
CRRC Assets Management initiated the standards development process in September 2025, working with industry experts, companies, and research institutions. Together, the standards establish a tiered evaluation system covering key stages of rail transit equipment manufacturing.
The standards set out evaluation indicators, scoring methods, and procedures for green factories and green supply chains, as well as principles and core requirements for zero-carbon factories, workshops, and production lines. They are designed to support manufacturers of locomotives, multiple units, rail transit components, and other equipment in green assessment, low-carbon transformation, and zero-carbon development, while also providing a reference for third-party evaluation.
Building on its experience in green manufacturing and carbon management, CRRC Assets Management has been supporting CRRC manufacturing companies in developing green and zero-carbon practices while contributing to industry standards development.
The company will continue promoting the application of the five standards across the rail transit value chain and supporting the industry’s transition toward greener and lower-carbon manufacturing.
