The world’s first 16 MW tension-leg platform (TLP) floating wind power platform, Haiyou Anlan, has been connected to the Lufeng Oilfield power grid and is now supplying green electricity directly to the offshore oilfield. CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Co., Ltd. supplied a key component for the typhoon-resistant floating wind turbine - a 17 MW medium-speed permanent-magnet wind generator.
Haiyou Anlan
Located 136 kilometers offshore in waters 136 meters deep, Haiyou Anlan is China’s first independently designed, built and installed TLP floating wind power platform. It is also the world’s deepest-water, farthest-offshore and largest-capacity TLP floating wind platform.
Equipped with a 16 MW typhoon-resistant wind turbine, the platform is designed to withstand extreme conditions associated with Category 17 typhoons. It is expected to generate approximately 54 million kWh of electricity annually, reducing CO2 emissions by around 35,000 tonnes and saving approximately 15,000 cubic meters of fuel oil each year. The electricity is transmitted via subsea cables to the Lufeng Oilfield power grid.
17 MW Medium-Speed Permanent-Magnet Wind Generator
The 17 MW generator was independently developed by CRRC Zhuzhou Electric for the project. Designed for high efficiency, integration and reliability, it supports stable operation and efficient maintenance under challenging deepwater offshore conditions.
CRRC Zhuzhou Electric has established a 26 MW-class offshore wind generator technology platform covering advanced design, precision manufacturing and flexible production to meet customized requirements for deepwater offshore applications.
The company has also developed a series of floating wind generators, including a 5.5 MW generator for the world’s first typhoon-resistant floating offshore wind turbine, an 18.X MW dual-turbine generator solution for the world’s first twin-turbine floating offshore wind platform, and a 22 MW generator for Qihang, the world’s highest-capacity floating wind turbine. These products are supporting the transition of floating wind power from demonstration projects toward larger-scale deployment.


Supporting the Scale-Up of Offshore Wind
China’s 15th Five-Year Plan for Renewable Energy Development targets around 100 GW of new offshore wind projects commencing construction during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, with total offshore wind capacity exceeding 100 GW by 2030.
Looking ahead, CRRC Zhuzhou Electric will continue advancing higher-capacity, more reliable and smarter wind generator technologies, working with industry partners to support the large-scale and commercial development of deepwater and floating offshore wind power and contribute to China’s carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
