The China Electricity Council recently announced its 2025 benchmarking results for wind power production and operational performance. A total of 42 wind farms supplied by CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Co., Ltd. were named “Excellent Wind Farms,” with 9 projects in Ningxia, Yunnan, Henan and other regions receiving the highest 5A rating.
From Short-Term Performance to Long-Term Reliability
Turbine availability at several benchmark projects supplied by CRRC Zhuzhou Institute has exceeded 99.9%. More than 20 wind farms, including projects in Ningxia, Yunnan, Inner Mongolia and Henan, have been recognized as Excellent Wind Farms for multiple consecutive years.
Spanning northwest, north, northeast, central and southern China, these projects operate across diverse environments including high-altitude areas, mountainous terrain, plains and the deserts, demonstrating the adaptability and long-term reliability of CRRC’s wind power products.
High-Speed Rail Expertise Supporting Reliability Across the Value Chain
CRRC Zhuzhou Institute has applied its core expertise in components, algorithms and materials from the high-speed rail sector to wind power. Its independently developed high-power semiconductors, for example, are used in wind turbine converters to enhance equipment reliability.
For quality management, the company integrates its “zero-defect” approach with the APQP4Wind methodology, supported by IPD quality management, the 5M1E digital manufacturing platform and digital-twin-based operations and maintenance. Its independently developed Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) system incorporates more than 200 standardized models and can identify potential faults up to seven days in advance, helping reduce unplanned downtime.
2026 marks the 20th anniversary of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute’s wind power business. Building on its expertise in components, algorithms and materials, the company has developed wind power solutions with reliability at their core.
