A subsidiary of CRRC Qiqihar Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. in Harbin has been named a national level “Green Factory” in China’s 2025 green manufacturing list released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This accomplishment marks the group’s fourth company to receive this designation.

The national “Green Factory” certification is awarded to companies demonstrating leading performance in resource efficiency, clean production, and low-carbon energy use. The recognition confirms the Harbin company’s progress in areas such as intensive land use, non-hazardous materials, cleaner production processes, waste recycling, and low-carbon energy systems.

In recent years, the company has implemented a series of green initiatives to transform its energy structure and reduce emissions. Through fossil fuel replacement and the adoption of clean energy systems, it has achieved annual carbon reductions of nearly 10,000 tons. A “solar + storage” energy model has been deployed, with rooftop photovoltaic systems supplying 46.01% of electricity consumption and cutting emissions by around 3,300 tons annually.
The company also improved energy efficiency through equipment upgrades and smart energy management systems. Industrial energy storage projects using optimized charge-discharge cycles have reduced energy consumption in key equipment, while digital energy management has enabled more precise control across operations.
As a result, the share of clean energy use has increased from 17.4% to 80%. Energy consumption per unit of output has fallen from 0.16 to 0.102 tons of standard coal equivalent, while carbon emissions per unit of output have dropped from 0.67 to 0.079 tons.
The company will continue to expand green manufacturing practices and develop low-carbon demonstration projects, including zero-carbon workshops, to further support sustainable industrial development.
