China’s first YHG-1200Q (TDC) new energy multi-scenario flash-butt rail welding machine, jointly developed by CRRC Qishuyan Institute Co., Ltd. and China Railway 11th Bureau Group Co., Ltd., has been successfully put into operation, completing its first on-site rail welding task on March 22.
The new equipment is designed to address long-standing challenges in rail welding, including limited adaptability across different operating scenarios, short endurance of new energy systems, and restricted working space. The development team introduced an integrated design combining a long-arm crane, compact welding head, and new energy power system, enabling improved flexibility in confined environments such as turnout welding and complex construction conditions.
The machine features a hybrid power system and intelligent energy management, allowing it to weld up to 50 joints on a single charge while supporting simultaneous charging during operation. Welding precision is controlled within ±0.5 mm.
Following a tightly managed development and production cycle, multiple teams collaborated to complete manufacturing, system integration, and testing on schedule. Field deployment demonstrated strong adaptability and stable performance under complex site conditions, earning positive feedback from project teams and frontline operators.
The successful first application validates the reliability of CRRC’s in-house technology and supports the continued advancement of rail engineering equipment toward greener, more intelligent, and integrated solutions.
