CRRC Corporation Limited held a conference in Changzhou on March 26 to advance reforms in building its industrial workforce, as part of broader efforts to strengthen talent development and support its ambition to become a world-class enterprise.

The meeting reviewed progress from recent years and set priorities for the next phase of reform, with participation from industry, academia, and labor representatives. Among the speakers, Ma Kanyan emphasized that CRRC, as a leading rail equipment manufacturer, has played a critical role in supporting China’s railway development. He noted that advancing workforce reform is a national-level priority aimed at strengthening industrial capabilities and called for stronger alignment, execution, and results across the system.

In his keynote address, Sun Yongcai outlined a five-part framework for advancing reform. He stressed the importance of maintaining strategic alignment and fully recognizing the significance of workforce reform, while also confronting existing challenges and improving its depth and effectiveness. He highlighted CRRC’s evolving approach built around coordinated organizational leadership, integrated institutional systems, and closed-loop supervision, and called for translating these structures into tangible outcomes. Ultimately, he emphasized that reform should focus on delivering real value—enhancing employee well-being, supporting innovation-driven growth, and contributing to broader economic and social development.

A work report delivered by Wang An summarized progress across five key areas, including strengthening foundational alignment, improving workforce skills, fostering innovation, enhancing employee protections, and leveraging the role of model workers. The report highlighted continued efforts to build a more capable, motivated, and innovation-driven workforce.

The conference also featured experience-sharing sessions from several CRRC subsidiaries, focusing on areas such as innovation studios, craftsman development, and training systems, with the aim of scaling replicable practices across the group.

During the event, CRRC launched a series of initiatives to support workforce development, including the opening of a model worker and craftsman exhibition hall and the expansion of its High-Speed Rail Craftsman Academy network. A group of industry experts and leading skilled professionals were appointed as advisors and professors to further strengthen talent cultivation.
