The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released the 2025 list of Excellence-Level Smart Factory projects. Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric Co., Ltd (Times Electric), a subsidiary under CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, was selected for its “Smart Factory for Core Components of Rail Transit Equipment.”
As part of China’s national “team” in rail transit equipment, Times Electric has actively advanced smart-factory development in line with national policy. Since launching its smart manufacturing strategy in 2015, the company has built a full-chain intelligent system spanning R&D and design, production and manufacturing, and operations management. It has strengthened continuous optimization capabilities in digitization and networking, and deployed industrial equipment, software, and systems across typical smart-manufacturing scenarios. The factory achieves end-to-end data integration (design–production–operations), intelligent equipment control, online optimization of production processes, and comprehensive optimization across the product life-cycle and the entire supply chain, enabling multi-scenario, system-level intelligent applications. The result is a replicable and scalable digital smart-factory solution that offers a proven “Times Electric model” for upgrading intelligence across the rail transit and broader high-end equipment manufacturing sectors.
Excellence-Level Smart Factory status represents the domestic leading level of intelligent construction. Recipients demonstrate high-efficiency collaboration and continuous optimization/innovation across the full value chain on a foundation of digital, networked, and intelligent capabilities, with industry-leading performance in productivity, product quality, cost control, and green development.
