Kajola Railway Freight Car Assembly Plant in Nigeria, the first railway freight car assembly plan in Western Africa, for which CRRC provides technical support, has officially started operation. The plant is the first of its kind in Nigeria, also the first railway freight car plant in Western Africa that adopts Chinese technical standards.
Currently, the assembly plant is working on the delivery of the contract for 377 complete cars, large parts, and local assembly technical support services. The project of Kajola Railway Freight Car Assembly Plant adopts the innovative business model of “freight cars + large parts + technical services”. CRRC Shandong sends its technical support service teams to assist the client in the local assembly of large parts into complete cars. Leveraging the platform of the Kajola assembly plant, CRRC Shandong provides training for local employees in technical theories and actual operation relating to railway freight cars, and has trained a large number of production and operational maintenance talents.
Kajola Railway Freight Car Assembly Plant has the annual manufacturing capacity of 500 freight cars of various models, and will make positive contributions to promoting the development of modern railway in Nigeria. The official operation start of the plant will not only provide locally manufactured railway freight cars for Nigeria, but also provide railway equipment technical support in Sub-Saharan Africa.
