Recently, China’s first high-temperature superconducting (HTS) electrodynamic suspension full-element test system independently developed by CRRC completed its first suspension operation, marking a significant technological breakthrough in the HTS electrodynamic suspension area in China. The suspension operation fully validated multiple core technologies of the HTS electrodynamic suspension transportation system, laying a solid foundation for the engineering application of the HTS electrodynamic maglev transportation system.
The HTS electrodynamic maglev transportation system is composed of systems like vehicles, tracks, traction power supply, and operational communications. The HTS electrodynamic maglev system displayed this time has application cases such as high-speed, ultra high-speed, and low vacuum pipeline, with an operational speed reaching 600km/h and above, while having advantages of safety, green, intelligence, comfort, and strong environment adaptability.
The HTS electrodynamic maglev transportation system is an important option for constructing fast transportation channels among mega cities and developed economic circles moving forward. Besides, it will provide strong support for optimizing spatial layout, and promoting regional coordinated development as well as China’s construction of comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network.
