Recently, the autonomous train developed by CRRC for Shenzhen Metro Line 16 rolled off the line at CRRC ZELC, attracting much attention.

With a speed of 80km/h, the train comprises 6 Type A cars, and self-driving is its best highlight. It adopts the GOA4 level technology and can realize fully automatic operation and automatic recovery in the event of failure without the participation of drivers and conductors. Supported by the built-in multi-dimensional safety detection system, the train can check road conditions precisely, and pre-alert various obstacles, far more reliable than human eyes. The train also boasts a sound health management system, which is equivalent to a “on-board doctor” that can conduct real-time status monitor and failure diagnosis for the entire train and key systems. Benefiting from multiple advanced intelligence technologies, the train’s operation and maintenance has an intelligent upgrade, enabling the train to have safer and more reliable operation.

Shenzhen Metro Line 16 is a major livelihood project of Shenzhen city. The CRRC-made autonomous train will not only make traveling more convenient for residents in eastern Shenzhen, but will also facilitate economic development of the areas along the line and support the city to expand its space to the eastern area of Shenzhen.
