Recently, Guangzhou-Qingyuan Intercity Railway and Guangzhou East Ring Intercity Railway started official operation. The first train C4706 departed from Qingcheng Station and headed for Baiyun Airport North Station. After 39 minutes, the train stopped at T2 Terminal of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport.
Guangzhou-Qingyuan Intercity Railway covers 38.2 kilometers, with 6 stations and a maximum speed of 200km/h, while Guangzhou East Ring Intercity Railway travels a length of 22.6 kilometers, with 4 stations and a maximum speed of 160km/h. The two railways are important lines in the intercity railway network of the Pearl River delta. With the operation start of the two intercity railways, the connection between “Guangzhou metropolis circle” and “South Qingyuan” is realized.
The CRH6 multiple units leverage the technological platform of CRH EMU, and maintain the technical characteristics of being “advanced, mature, economical, suitable and reliable”. It can satisfy the needs of fast regional economic development, and can provide intercity rail transportation required by rising city clusters. The intercity multiple units have improved and upgraded based on the CRH2 multiple units, and have the features of large carrying capacity, fast boarding and alighting, and fast take off and fast stop.
