Four 12-axle electric locomotives for export to Uzbekistan slowly drove out of CRRC Dalian, heading for Tashkent of Uzbekistan. The locomotives have a continuous traction power of 14400kW and a maximum running speed of 120km/h. The strong traction power enables the locomotive to easily haul 10000-ton and larger tonnage trains, and the acceleration performance of the train is greatly improved. The first batch of four electric locomotives successfully left the factory 4.5 months ahead of schedule even though adversely impacted by the pandemic, which was highly recognized by the customer.
Local routes feature large ramps and many curved roads, and local climate is extremely harsh, with temperature as low as -40℃ and as high as 50℃. Stable operation of the locomotives in such an environment and climate condition poses demanding requirements for the traction performance and braking performance. For this reason, CRRC Dalian conducted localized development and design for these new electric locomotives, and optimized the wheel-rail relation to ensure stability and safety when driving on curves. The body of the locomotive is designed taking into consideration the colors of the national flag of Uzbekistan, fully implementing the concept of “customization” in every detail of the locomotive design.
