On Dec. 16, a delivery ceremony for diesel locomotives to Kenya was held in Qishuyan, Jiangsu. The chairman of Kenya supervision company, the locomotive manager of Kenya Railway Company, vice president of CRRC, chief engineer of China Road and Bridge Corp. attend the ceremony.
The locomotives are made by CRRC Qishuyan Co., Ltd. There are three kinds of 56 locomotive for Kenya, which including 43 DF8B freight locomotives, 5 DF11 passenger locomotives and 8 DF7G shunting locomotives. They are equipped with 16V280ZJA diesel engine. The truck gauge is 1,435 mm. These locomotives will be put into use in Mombassa-Nairobi standard gauge railway.
