HXD2b Six-axle 9600kW Freight Electric Locomotive

Introduction

HXD2B locomotive is another kind of six-axle locomotive which is researched and developed by DELC. The total power of locomotive is 9600kW and single axle power is 1600kW with axle arrangement Co-Co. It is the electric locomotive with the largest single axle power in the world and it is the first class of design level for the complete locomotive.

 

Main technical characteristics

1、 Adopt the advanced 6500V/600A IGBT elements and double-faced water cooling power modular, the single axle power is 1600kW.

2、Adopt the complete independent axle control technology and the capacity of traction transformer is 12600kVA.

3、Adopt micro computer control system based on WorldFIP network telecom technology; train control and monitor system (TCMS)is based on AGATE control unit.

4、The bogie adopts the frame with the shape of “目”and axle arrangement Co-Co, axle suspension driven unit, middle push-pull type short draw bar structure; the primary suspension is spring suspension; the secondary suspension is rubber metal pad.

5、The carbody adopts the complete bearing welding structure and no beam frame corrugated plate side wall, the centre sill and the rack compose into the united under frame which can bear static pressure of 3000kN and static pulling force of 2500kN from longitudinal direction.

6、The working ambient temperature is in the range of -40℃~+40℃ which can satisfy the requirement in extreme cold area.
