[China News] Foreign Media Group Visited the Capital of China Electric Locomotive-CRRC ZELC:Go global strategy of EMUs sparkles in the world

On 18th October, there are 12 foreign Media such as China Contact from Germany, Il Sole 24 Ore from Italy, Malaysia National News Agency and C1R from Russia etc. visited CRRC ZELC to explore the development of maglev train and “Go global” strategy of China EMUs.

The president of CRRC ZELC Zhou Qinghe introduced that CRRC ZLEC has achieved 2.6 billion (RMB) of sales revenue in 2015, 860 million come from “One belt One road” project. The national “One belt One road” strategy brings extraordinary opportunity for our company in exploring foreign market. CRRC ZELC has great will to cooperate with domestic and abroad partners to promote the development in global rail transportation domain.

Zhou Qinghe also said that our company is built by Cheng Xiaogang who is an academician & red entrepreneur and other predecessors. We maintain good trend of development since the establishment of new China. CRRC ZELC has a full HR system and R&D system including one academician. “We hope that foreign media continue to pay attention on the development of CRRC ZELC. We represent Chinese manufacturer and we provide Chinese rail transportation equipment to the countries along Silk Road to achieve win-win development.   

CRRC ZELC is the biggest R&D base for electric locomotive and the birthplace of China EMU technology. In addition, Zhuzhou is named as capital of China electric locomotive. With the boost of “one belt one road” strategy, the DMUs made by CRRC ZELC have been best-seller in foreign countries.

In delegation of Zhou Qinghe, the vice-president Luo Chongfu accepted the interview.

The journalist Peng Yongxing from Malaysia Sin Chew Daily asked Luo Chongfu in medium-low speed maglev train: “Why we need develop maglev train after the successful development of high speed train? What’s the advantage of medium-low speed maglev technology?”

“The medium-low speed maglev train is mainly applied in urban transportation but high speed train is suitable for the transportation between cities.” answered by Luo Chongfu. The maglev train is an eco-friendly transportation tool in 21st century with low noise, strong claiming ability and lower cost per kilometer compared to metro and LRV. That’s why CRRC ZELC developed medium-low speed maglev train with intellectual property.   

“So what’s the industrial planning in Central Asia after the successful business in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan?” The journalist from Kyrgyzstan asked.

“The countries along two silk roads are important market. We want to work with central Asian countries to develop rail transportation project based on their own advantages. We can export technology, service and managerial experience rely on local assembling factory to realize industrial localization and get win-win result.” Explained by Luo Chongfu. On 4th October, CRRC ZELC signed SKD project with Georgia. 

The high speed railway between Kuala Lamper of Malaysia and Singapore has attracted many countries to scramble for the bid. China has occupied more than 80% of market share in Malaysia. So the media want to know advantages of China and whether China will win the bid.   

“We have confidence in products, technology and service. China has competitive advantage in railway transportation domain.” Luo Chongfu introduced that CRRC ZELC has won a contract value of US$210 million in South Africa as well as order in Macedonia. In addition, CRRC ZELC built many subsidiaries in other countries to expand international business. We are pioneer for “Go global” strategy. The excellent quality of product, reliable performance and contractual capacity has been widely appreciated in the world.

At present, CRRC ZLEC has won nearly 30 projects in 12 countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa and Turkey. The total contract value is more than 32 billion RMB.

The foreign media also visited Times Electric Co.,Ltd which is subsidiary of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Co.,Ltd. With the guide of “Introduction, Digestion and Re-innovation” strategy, Times Electric Co.,Ltd which inherits the core business and resources of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute has been developed rapidly.

After the visit, the journalist from China Contact in Germany has better understanding of Chinese rail transportation technology and highly praised that Chinese enterprise has strong innovation ability and even has stronger capacity than European country in some fields.
