Wuhan Evening—(Journalist Tan Delei) On August 10, the first A type metro car, which has high passenger capacity and is made by Wuhan subsidiary of CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co, Ltd (hereinafter referred to as CRRC ZELC), was rolled out in Jiangxia district, Wuhan city, Hubei province, and is expected to be put into operation on Wuhan Metro Line 6 at the end of this year. Compared to currently B type metro car, the passenger capacity of this A metro car is approximately 600 passengers more than that of B metro car, which will effectively relieve the transportation pressure during peak time.
At 10:45 am, train No. F37 Wuhan A metro vehicle slowly rolled off from Wuhan production base. At site, Journalist with Wuhan Evening was deeply impressed by this metro vehicle since it reflects Wuhan’s rich culture and harmonious atmosphere. The design of the head of the train is inspired by eyes of a crane, therefore, endowed with the crane’s charm and parrot green band outside, the trains are decorated with vivid curves inside to express the winding rivers, which represents beauty, vitality and development of Wuhan city.
This train, with maximum operating speed of 80km/h, consists of 6 cars (4 motor cars, 2 trailers), and adopts the whole aluminum-welding drum carbody structure. The train uses overhead catenary power supply, so no “braid” on roof is visible. It is worth mentioning that the biggest advantage of this A metro car when compared to B metro car for Line 1,2,3,4 lies in its high passenger capacity, namely, its maximum passenger capacity is 2460 per train, which is approximately 600 passengers more than that of B metro car.
Chencheng, vice president of CRRC ZELC and chairman of Wuhan CRRC ZELC rail transit equipment Co., Ltd said, the first “Wuhan Metro”, tailed for Wuhan metro line 6, is an extraordinary metro vehicle as it is equipped with fresh air device to purify the air inside vehicle; with air conditioning of multi-level adjustable cooling capacity to automatically adjust the temperature in response to the changes of passenger flows; with evacuating door on both ends of train to ensure that passengers can quickly and safely disembark under emergency circumstance.
Wuhan metro line 6 runs from Sports center to Jinyin lake Park. On the 35.95km line, there are 27 stations in total. Currently, totally 16 trainsets have been delivered to Wuhan, going through the test run in the north of Shiqiao station of Hankou and south of Maying road of Hanyang respectively. This line is planned to start trail operation at the end of this year.
