On 1st August, ZELC celebrates 80th anniversary day and all the employees together with guests from home and abroad witness and share the glorious time.
ZELC is established for railway, which goes through different developing stages from the first stake foundation being set up, to Shaoshan series locomotive being produced, and then to the maximum power AC locomotive being developed. Therefore, it is honoured as “home to Chinese electrical locomotive” and “birth place of Chinese high-speed EMU”.
ZELC is powerful for railway from initiating mass transit vehicle industry to realizing different revenue targets: 10 billion in 2009 and 20 billion in 2013. With pioneering spirit, ZELC staff grasps the chance of developing the first electrical locomotive and shifting to electrical locomotive manufacturing to realize the production mode from repairing to manufacturing; with tenacious spirit, ZELC staff grasps the pulse of “going out” and “one belt and one road” to pave a way of internationalization; with creating spirit, ZELC staff understand developing direction of green intelligence which is represented by super-capacitor vehicle. Nowadays, all different types of products are running at home and abroad, such as, 7000 subways and LRVs, 70 EMUs and so on. It has become a Chinese power propelling the world railway transport development.
ZELC is known by the world for railway. ZELC’s products are running in Central Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa and Europe, from breakthrough of zero exporting the complete locomotive in 1997, exporting the first intercity EMU in 2010, gaining the maximum order of Chinese railway equipment export in 2014, to delivering EMUs to Europe for the first time, all of which are “master piece of Chinese equipment going-out”.
Several generations of ZELC staff change countless “impossible” into “possible” with unyielding spirit, leading responsibility, rigorous style and continuous innovation, and play symphony of promoting national industry with enterprising, pioneering and inclusive spirits.
At present, international economy continues to be depressed, domestic economy enters new normal, and the requirement for national railway transportation equipment with the tendency of “EMU increasing, locomotive decreasing”. Therefore, ZELC is facing unprecedented difficulties and challenges.
