(Journalist YangJian Long HongTao)The first catenary-free ultra-capacitor tram which is innovated by China independently was rolled out today in CRRC ZELC. According to the introduction of chief engineer Mr. Suo Jianguo, there are 3 advantages of the tram. Firstly, there is no catenary during the operation which makes the city more beautiful. In addition, the tram is powered by 9500 FALA super-capacitor which can help the tram to be charged in 30s. After charging, the tram can run for 3-5KM. Thirdly, more than 85% of braking energy will be recycled to super capacitor during braking. The tram is 100% designed by low floor. The height from floor to TOR is only 320mm. Moreover, the maximum passenger capacity is 380 people and the operating speed is 70km/h. What’s specified, the whole technique including all components are designed and manufactured by China independently.
