In the 1969, the CRRC Yongji Electric Co., Ltd. broke ground on a rocky beach. In the 1970, the first 4,000-horsepower internal-combustion engine owner's generator was manufactured. In the 1974, the factory achieved the quantity production. In the 1978, GQL-45 inductor traction exciter generator won the outstanding scientific and technological achievement award in the national science conference.
In the mid-1980s, the CRRC Yongji Electric Co., Ltd., which has achieved large-scale production, started the journey of promoting sustainable development relying on technological innovation. GE motor, electronic control technology and Hitachi urban rail ac transmission technology were introduced by the CRRC Yongji Electric Co., Ltd., and GE products manufacturing license and Hitachi metro chopper production license were obtained in China. In 2010, the CRRC Yongji Electric Co., Ltd. completed the first high-voltage high-power IGBT production line in China and it is the fourth in the world at the same time, breaking the monopoly pattern of key device technology and products abroad, and began to enter the industrial frequency conversion field, and achieved the commercial application and export of high-voltage grade 6500V and high-current grade 3600A IGBT products overseas.
With the deepening of reform and opening up, China has entered a new era with great strides. In 1993, the products of the CRRC Yongji Electric Co., Ltd. exported abroad for the first time, motor parts were exported independently for the first time in 1997, and the full motor machine was exported to the United States in 2002.
