Recently, CRRC Corporation Limited organized the evaluation for prototype of ECP brake system developed by SRI. The evaluation group agreed that the prototype passes the evaluation.
The electronic method is adopted for the ECP brake system (Electronically Controlled Pneumatic) to realize the train brake control, the air is no longer used as the transmission medium for brake command, and the brake force shall just be produced by the compressed air, so the brake command is transmitted by the dual core transmission cable or the radio signals which through the whole train. Compared with the traditional automatic air brake system, ECP brake control system can further realize the whole train’s synchronous brake and release, the brake force can be uniformly distributed through the train, so as to effectively shorten the idle time of train, reduce the braking distance and train longitudinal impulse.
