The grand gathering to celebrate the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up was held in the Great Hall of the People at 10 a.m. on December 18, 2018. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended and delivered an important speech. The CPC Central Committee and the State Council commended those who made outstanding contributions to reform and opening-up.
CRRC SRI attaches great importance to actively organizing staff and workers to watch the grand gathering to celebrate the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up, and calls on all of them to study hard and put the spirit of General Secretary Xi's important speech into practice.
The meeting was officially started when Premier Li Keqiang chaired the meeting and said, "All stand up and sing the national anthem". All the employees of CRRC SRI in front of the TV screen stood up and jointly sang the national anthem with the Beijing scene thousands of miles away, feeling the exciting melody that made people blood boiling.
In accordance with the decisions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the meeting commends those who made outstanding contributions to reform and opening-up. When heard Sun Yongcai, the project leader of the development of the "Fuxinghao" high-speed train, was on the "Pioneer of Reform" list, all employees of CRRC SRI felt proud and applauded.
General Secretary Xi delivered an important speech, summing up the great achievements of the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up, calling on the whole Party and the people of all ethnic groups in China to unite more closely around the Party Central Committee, holding high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, remaining true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind, and carrying out the reform to the end.
The employees listened carefully, took notes carefully, and kept key records of wonderful quotations from time to time when listened to the important speech made by the General Secretary Xi. The employees burst into applause especially when the General Secretary Xi finally mentioned that "the people's yearning for a better life will be realized continuously, and new and greater miracles of the Chinese nation will be created in the new era!"
The employees expressed after saw the great gathering that they were very excited and proud to hear the General Secretary's praise on "high-speed railway". In their future, they will actively learn from the pioneers of reform, work hard, contribute to the rail transit industry and the development of the country.
"Forty years of tremendous waves hit the shore, ninety thousand Li where the big roc bird flies high". CRRC SRI, a company with a history of about 60 years of hardships, has made great achievements along with the reform and opening-up. These achievements are "not due to waiting or shouting, but spelling out and working out", which is the historical witness of the hard struggle of generations of CRRC SRI's employees. The achievements of development are indeed gratifying, but the spirit of struggle is even more precious.
The General Secretary Xi said, "the direction determines the future, the road determines the fate. If we want to control our destiny in our own hands, we must be firm in our determination not to change.
