On December 11th, 2018, Beneq is in an atmosphere of delight.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Finland Chen Li was accompanied by Sun Liwei, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy to inspect Beneq which is wholly owned by Qingdao Sifang SRI Intellectual Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SRI Intellectual). Nie Xiang, deputy general manager of CRRC Qingdao Sifang Rolling Stock Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SRI) and general manager of SRI Intellectual, and Jukka, president of Beneq, also accompanied him for inspection and made report on relevant work.
SRI Intellectual, founded by SRI as one of the founding shareholders, completed the acquisition of Beneq of Finland on September 28th, 2018.
Nie Xiang first briefed Ambassador Chen Li about the relative company profile of CRRC, SRI, SRI Intellectual and Beneq.
Ambassador Chen Li and his delegation showed great interest in the products of Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and Thin Film Electroluminescent (EL) Displays when they saw the products exhibition stand and asked:
"What are the main advantages and applications of atomic layer deposition technology?"
"What's the difference between transparent displays and traditional displays?"
Ambassador Chen Li and his delegation fully affirmed Beneq's outstanding innovative ability when they heard that the atomic layer deposition (ALD) technology is applied to deposit a layer of the thickness of an atom, i.e. 0.1 nanometer with good uniformity and can be used for coating on special-shaped materials; it has been widely used in the field of semiconductor, especially for the production process of coating layer thickness less than 14 nanometers; it is also widely used in high difficulty coating industry where requires high performance in terms of thickness and uniformity or coating on irregular shape of substrate.
Ambassador Chen Li and his delegation also expressed their praise for the wide applications of the products when they heard that the projection height of traditional head-up display is limited, while the thin film electroluminescent display produced by Beneq is self-luminescent and does not need backlight; it can realize all-solid-state self-luminescent display with a transparency of more than 80% and an ultra-wide operating temperature range from -65℃ to 100℃; it can guarantee the life cycle of more than 100,000 hours with high ability of shock & vibration resistance; it can be widely used in medical, aerospace, engineering machinery, rail transit, high-end automobile and other fields.
In the meeting room, Nie Xiang briefed Ambassador Chen Li and his delegation on the background of Beneq project, the current ownership structure and shareholders of Beneq, and the current work progress of SRI Intellectual. Jukka briefly introduced the technology, products and applications of Beneq.
Ambassador Chen Li and his delegation then visited the manufacturing workshop accompanied by Nie Xiang and Jari-Pekka Tiesmäki, the Vice President who in charge of the operation of Beneq.
Ambassador Chen Li praised this successful acquisition is another classic cooperation case of "China Capital and Finnish Technology". He said that both transparent display technology and ALD technology of Beneq are the world's leading technologies, representing the future development direction of the industry. SRI Intellectual should rely on the industrial advantages of CRRC and SRI and make full use of Beneq as a innovation and R&D Platform in Europe to strengthen R&D of technological innovation, rapidly transform relevant technologies into industrialization, actively promote Finland's local economic and social development, and contribute to deepening the friendship between China and Finland.
