The Election Session of the Vehicle Committee of China Railway Society and the Academic Symposium Successfully Held in Qingdao

The election session of the Vehicle Committee of China Railway Society (hereinafter referred to as Vehicle Committee) and the academic symposium was held in Qingdao on December 6, 2018 and was co-sponsored by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Rolling Stock Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CRRC SRI) as an academic exchange platform company of the Vehicle Committee.

Present at the session were Ma Fuhai, Vice-President and Secretary-General of China Railway Society, Sun Yongcai, Vice-President of China Railway Society and President of CRRC Corporation Limited., Shen Ruiyuan, Director of Rolling Stock Department of China Railway, Chen Boshi, Vice-President of Railway Branch of China Association of Senior Scientists and Technicians, Hu Wenjun, Vice-Director of Equipment Supervision Department of State Railway Administration of the People’s Republic of China, Qi Yanhui, Vice-Director of Science and Information Department of China Railway, Li Zhonghao, Vice-Director of Technical Equipment Specialized Committee of China Urban Rail Transit Association, Li Xuefeng, Vice General Manager of China Academy of Railway Sciences Corporation Limited and Wang Jun, Vice-President of CRRC Corporation Limited.. The session was chaired by Wu Guodong, Deputy-Director of Rolling Stock Department of China Railway.

Leaders and experts from relevant members of Vehicle Committee also attended the meeting including Shanghai Civil Engineering Co., Ltd of CREC, China Railway Chengdu Group Co., Ltd., China Academy of Railway Sciences Corporation Limited, National Innovation Center of High Speed Train, CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd., CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd., CRRC Sifang Co., Ltd. and CRRC Qingdao Sifang Rolling Stock Research Institute Co., Ltd..

The session consists of the opening ceremony, the election session of the Vehicle Commission for a new term, the work report made by the chairman of the new term of Vehicle Commission, and the topic academic exchanges and seminar.

The congratulatory letter written by Lu Chunfang, president of the China Railway Society was first read during the session. Leaders such as Ma Fuhai, Sun Yongcai, Shen Ruiyuan, Hu Wenjun, Qi Yanhui, Li Zhonghao and Li Xuefeng then made speeches respectively.

The session finally passed the list of members, the Chairman, the Vice-Chairman, the Secretary-General, the Deputy Secretary-General and the eight members of the study group of the seventh Vehicle Committee through serious election and voting.

After the election, Secretary-General Ma Fuhai granted a license to Chen Boshi, the new chairman of the seventh Vehicle Committee, and then all the participants took a group photo as a souvenir.

Chairman Chen Boshi made a report on behalf of the new Vehicle Committee. The Secretary-General of the Vehicle Committee, Shan Wei, presided over the academic exchange seminar and introduced the “Seventh Vehicle Committee Activity System” and the “Implementing Points of the Seventh Vehicle Committee Academic Activities”.

Subsequently, experts from CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd., CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd., Shanghai Civil Engineering Co., Ltd of CREC, Southwest Jiaotong University and CRRC Qiqihar Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. conducted academic exchanges and discussions.

Since the establishment of the Vehicle Committee in 1979, CRRC SRI as a secretariat company, has conscientiously fulfilled its functions and obligations, brought into full play the core technical advantages of rail vehicles, and established a favorable communication platform for scientific and technological workers.

In the future, CRRC SRI will earnestly implement the requirements of China Railway and China Railway Society, strive to undertake the daily academic exchanges of the Vehicle Committee, concentrate superior resources, relying on the core technical team, effectively provide strong support for the role of the Vehicle Committee; make full use of the advantages of cross-system technology integration, actively promote the core system technology of rail vehicles, and contribute to the technological progress of the industry.
