Here comes Qingdao’s most beautiful metro! On April 13th, Qingdao Metro Line 11 was opened for trial operation with passengers.
Located in the east of east-coast urban area as a north-south rail transit express, Line 11 starts from the intersection of Miaoling Road and Shenzhen Road in Laoshan District, Qingdao (Miaoling Road Station), along Miaoling Road, Binhai Avenue, Linhai Road and Gaoyu River, runs northwards and ends at Aoshan Bay Station with total length of 58.35km. It connects Blue Silicon Valley, Laoshan scenic tourist area with World Garden Club and is praised by netizens as “the most beautiful metro” with not only the "aesthetics", but also the "connotation".
Line 11 has a total length of nearly 60 kilometers with 22 stations, but the whole journey only costs 58 minutes. Thanks to the “120km/h metro car traction drive system” developed by CRRC SRI with full independent intellectual property rights, the country’s leading speed allows citizens to enjoy the metro’s “speed and passion” in beauty. Line 11 adopts the formation of 3 motor cars + one trailer car, the traction drive system uses the bogie control mode, and each power bogie is equipped with a completely independent traction drive system. In the case of failure of one single bogie, the normal operation of the other bogies will not be affected, which can effectively improve the safe operation.
Line 11 has 4 underground stations and 18 elevated stations and looks like a “Gluttonous Snake” in the hands of a game player. How Line 11 realizes the unified command? It turned out to be the on-board network control system and the coupler & draft gear system of CRRC SRI.
The network control system is the “central brain” of the metro operation. It sends commands to link various functions of the metro, collects and processes the information sent back by the metro facilities to control the start and stop, broadcasting, air conditioning, fire & smoke alarm and car door status display etc. of the metro train. The coupler & draft gear system can safely couple all cars to realize entire signal transmission. From the front to the rear of the train, the metro driver can command uniformly. The special device can easily cope with the pressure caused by turning or uphill section. CRRC SRI’s anti-vibration products that have already been successfully applied on Qingdao Metro Line 3 show the citizen the charm of the metro train with the world advanced core systems.
