EMUs Manufactured by CSR Equip the “Most Beautiful High-speed Railway”

The Xiangpu railway (from Nanchang to Fuzhou or Putian), known as “China’s most beautiful high-speed railway” opened on 26th Sep. Fifteen 250km/h EMUs operating on the line were all researched and manufactured by CSR, among which, ten CRH2A EMUs were from CSR Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. and five CRH1 EMUs from Bombardier Sifang (Qingdao) Transportation Ltd.

    The 250km/h CRH2A EMUs in operation this moment were the main car type among China’s high-speed railways as well as the first batch of high-speed EMUs put into operation with the longest operation mileage in China. It is known that 100 CRH2A EMUs researched and manufactured by CSR Sifang have been successfully delivered. The max. operation mileage of single train has reached 3.4 million km which is the equal of 85 circles rounding the earth.

    Xiangpu railway, praised as “China’s most beautiful high-speed railway” goes through two provinces of Jiangxi and Fujian. All along the line, there are seven scenic spots such as Wuyi Mountain, Daiyun Mountain etc. As there are peaks rising one after another along the line, bridges and tunnels are the main constructions of Xiangpu railway. It is reported that the line has 116 tunnels accounting for more than half of total length of the railway. Regarding the features of many bridges and tunnels along the line and its complex operation environment, CSR Sifang has set up the joint work team composed by technical experts and technical workers and the site operation command center to fully cooperate with the joint commissioning and debug of the railway. They paid great importance to prepare traction system, brake system, electrical equipments, air conditioning and heating equipments, and sanitation system etc so as to ensure smooth open and operation of Xiangpu railway.

    Xiangpu railway takes passenger transportation as the principal and freight transportation as subsidiary. The line starts from Nanchang of Jiangxi province in the west, spreads from Wuchang west station, goes through Fuzhou, Nancheng, Nanfeng, Jianning of Fujian, Taining, Jiangle, Shaxian, Youxi, separates at Yongtai and respectively reaches Fuzhou station of Nanping north to Fuzhou railway and Putian station of Fuzhou to Xiamen railway. Its operation contributes to reduce the drive time of 11 hours between Nanchang and Fuzhou to 3.5 hours. It composes the backbone railway between middle-west area and south east coastal ports and forms national comprehensive transportation passage of “Wuhan-Nanchang-Fuzhou and Meizhou bay”. Meantime, the open of Xiangpu railway helps to inject new vigor for tourism of Jiangxi and Fujian.

    As the leading enterprise for research and manufacture of national high-speed EMU, CSR Sifang has researched and manufactured CRH2 EMU and CRH380A EMU, the main car types for national high-speed railways. At present, the company has successfully delivered 334 EMUs with different speed levels. No other domestic company has delivered more high-speed EMUs with more configurations or better quality or longer safe operation mileage than CSR Sifang. The CRH380A new generation high-speed EMU researched and manufactured by the company has assumed the operation main force for high-speed railways such as Beijing to Shanghai, Beijing to Guangzhou etc and created world’s highest railway operation test speed of 486.1km/h.
