In 17th March, Project of ‘Independent Gearbox for CRH3 Train’ won First Prize of Science and Technology Awards of China Railway Academy issued by the Awards Committee, and Project of ‘Domestic Development of HXN5 Rolling Stock Piston’ from CRRC Changzhou Diesel Engine Parts Co., Ltd. was awarded Third Prize.
Project of ‘Independent Gearbox for CRH3 Train’ was the first to realize independent innovation for gearboxes used in CRH3 trains in China, satisfying core technological requirements operated in high-speed, chilling conditions and achieving international advanced standard. The implementation of the Project boosted the establishment of R&D platform, manufacture platform and test verification system for gearboxes in CRH3 trains; changed the situation of imported dependence; resolved qualification issues as well as enhanced autonomy and industrialization of key components and parts in high-speed trains.
The manufacture of articulated piston composed of forged steel head, cast iron pin boss and forged aluminum skirt was initiated by Project of ‘Domestic Development of HXN5 Rolling Stock Piston’. Applied in over 400 diesel engines, the piston has achieved international advanced level in terms of loading rate with 900 thousand-kilometer travelling distance. The achievement of the Project is widely used in pistons of Dongfeng Series diesel locomotive, marine diesel engine and other diesel engines, therefore demonstrating remarkable benefits. The advantages of the Project range from reducing expenses to promoting the manufacturing capability of locomotive piston in China.
