CKD4C Diesel Locomotive

CKD4C (DF8B-VEN) Locomotive, as the first Chinese locomotive running on the South American Continental, is specifically developed and manufactured by CRRC Qishuyan Locomotive Co., Ltd. for the transportation on Venezuela mainline. The locomotive is equipped with 16V280ZJA diesel engine with maximum service power 3680kW (5000 horsepower), JF204D synchronous main alternator and ZD109E traction motor; the locomotive nominal power is 3100kW with axle load 25T; the maximum locomotive starting tractive effort is 480 kN (520kN when calculated on the motor), continuous traction effort is 369 kN, maximum constant power speed is above 90km/h and the minimum radius of curve negotiated is 145m.
Performance and characteristics: The locomotive adopts dual microcomputer control system with full-power self-load testing and double heading function.
