CRRC MA has completed design and is underway with manufacturing 404 subway cars for America's first and oldest transit system, The Massachusetts Bay Transportation System (MBTA). 

CRRC MA partnered with the State of Massachusetts, MBTA, and City of Springfield with a unified vision to establish rail car manufacturing in a City rich with history, passion, and a commitment to improve the local economy through vocational training and job creation.Upwards of 200 jobs will be created.

Manufacturing is underway at CRRC MA's North American manufacturing hub employing a workforce equipped with the knowledge and tools to build state-of-the-art rail car vehicles for transit agencies across the country.  CRRC MA's vision is to ensure thisworkforce remains involved in final assembly of future rail car project.

Other Projects

CRRC MA is designing and manufacturing 64 subway rail cars for Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA), with options for an additional 218 vehicles. Approximately 50 jobs will be created.

CRRC MA has secured a 41,218 sq. ft. assembly plant in the Los Angeles area for general assembly of several key systems including propulsion, lighting, and HVAC.  Not only will this facility provide equipment for the LA project, but also, will furnish equipment for future North American projects. 

CRRC MA is designing and manufacturing 45 double deck commuter rail vehicles with one of its affiliated companies for Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).   These vehicles and all future North American rail car contracts will be assembled in Springfield, Massachusetts.
