Introduction: DF5 shunting diesel locomotive is applicable to shunting operation at railway marshalling stations and section stations. It can also be taken as the traction power of transfer and industrial and mining operations. The locomotive is equipped with 8240ZJ diesel engine and adopts three-phase AC-DC transmission, outside corridor type locomotive body, two groups of 3-axle bogies, traction motor arranged in sequence, two-stage spring suspension, rolling bearing box, 4-rod mechanism traction without center plates and guide frames and one-sided brake shoes. To adapt to cold areas, the locomotive is equipped with preheating system to heat water, oil and fuel. It is characterized by excellent performance and reliable operation.
