DF5C diesel locomotive is a new shunting locomotive developed by CSR Qingdao Sifang Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. after summarizing the experience in manufacture and after-sales service of over 700 shunting locomotives and extensively soliciting opinions of the users in and out of the railway network. Mature maintenance-free components are employed for the locomotive auxiliary system, including three-phase squirrel-cage asynchronous motor, brushless excitation generator and programmable logic controller (PLC), which greatly increase the locomotive reliability and reduce the work load of maintenance and repair. The technical level and reliability of the locomotive reach a new step.
