Promoted exclusively by the former China Railway Locomotive & Rolling Stock Industry Corp., South Huiton Company Limited is a public company with high and new technology, which was founded by restructuring Guiyang Freight Car Works through raising funds. On June 16, 1999, South Huiton was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange with stock abbreviation and code of South Huiton and 000920. South Huiton is registered in Guiyang State-level High and New Technology Industry Development Zone and its controlling shareholder is China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Industry Group Corporation.

South Huiton has successfully passed Certifications of ISO 9001 and OHSAS18001(environment/occupational safety and health management system). It coveres an area of over 120 hectares, possesses total assets of RMB 1500 million yuan, and has 4,000 staff and workers, among whom there are more than 700 technicians and management persons including400 people with advanced technical job titles and middle rank technical job titles.

The main business of South Huiton includes manufacturing and overhauling of various railway wagons and spare parts, research, development and production of palm fiber materials and etc. It is the only one base for railway wagons overhauling and repairing in Southwest China. It has an annual capacity of overhauling 8,000 and manufacturing 2,000 various freight cars. In addition, it is also an important base for manufacturing spare parts for locomotives and rolling stocks. Equipped with steel casting production lines, and spring production lines which are the largest ones in production scale and complete with the most perfect and advanced inspection and test machines at present in China, South Huiton has a respective annual capacity of manufacturing 1800 tons of steel castings and springs, which can not only satisfy the domestic market but have entered the international market. Developed by South Huiton with its own intellectual property, Elastic Palm Fiber Material is widely used for cushions，mattress and etc. with fuctions of dustproof, noise reduction, permeability and etc. The materials is not only suitable for home mattresses and cushions but an ideal choice for hotels, hospitals,schools, passenger vehicles. Its Dazhiran Mattress made of this materials has become a famous brand product in furniture industry.

Adopting the strategy of basing on railway market and limited diversification, South Huiton has been making its traditional industry fine and perfect and at the same time invested in new industry in a selective way. South Huiton Science and Technology Industry Garden invested and established at the beginning of 2000 has become a platform for fast economic growth. Several new materail and erergy projects in this garden have realized quick development.
