World highest level super-capacitor successfully created by CRRC ZELC

Triple power, higher using efficiency of electric power and longer duration, the self-developed new generation high-power graphene super capacitor was unveiled in CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. on 9th, Otc. 2015..
   
The company announced that, “the performance of 3 V /12000 Fala graphene / activated carbon composite electrode super capacitor” and “2.8V/30000 Fala Graphene nano hybrid super capacitor” have been evaluated as world advanced level in ZheJiang Science and Technology Achievement and New product Identification forum . According to the different volume and nominal working voltage, 3 V /12,000 Fala super capacitor will be fully charged in just 30 seconds, and the 2.8V/30,000 Fala super capacitor needs 1 minute only. Compared to active carbon super capacitor, the grapheme/activated carbon composite electrode super capacitor has larger capacity and longer lifetime.

  The academicians of Chinese academy of Engineering Mr. Yang Yusheng, Liu Youmei, the expert of “National 863 energy-saving project” Mr. Zhang Shichao and other 6 experts evaluated that these two super capacitors represent the best technology of super capacitor unit in the world.

The super capacitor is a typical physical energy-storage device which has exceptional advantage compared to traditional charging device. “ Within 10,000 recharge cycles, hours of charging time, the risk of explosion and contamination ‘VS’ “1 million recharge cycles, dozens of seconds of charging time, no explosion and contamination risk” Mr. Ruan Dianbo who is the vice-director of ZELC R&D Center and the director of Ningbo Super Capacitor Research Institution, he demonstrated the performance of super capacitor with comparison. The super capacitor technology could be widely used in fields of electrical consuming, rail transportation, urban public transportation, defense and space, recycling of lifting mechanical potential energy, power generation and intelligent grid etc.
   
Currently, the super capacitor has been widely used in both tram and trolley bus that brings demonstration effects. For example, the 9,500FALA and 7,500FALA super capacitor are used in the trams of Guangzhou, Ningbo, Wuhan and Huai’an, as well as the trolley bus of Ningbo Bus Line 196. Guangzhou super-capacitor Haizhu line becomes a famous name card. Because the modern tram with super capacitor is totally integrated with Guangzhou Tower and Zhujiang river.  
   
3V/12,000FALA super capacitor is applicable for main drive of tram. The travel distance could be 6KM after one charge. The super capacitor realizes zero emission and can save 30% of energy compared to the catenary-powered trolley. Currently, planed tram line mileage in China is 5000KM and 2500KM will be constructed by 2020. 219 million KW/h of electricity will be saved and 2.5 million tons of carbon dioxide emission will be reduced yearly if we use super capacitor as the main drive power for all trams.


2.8V/30,000FALA super capacitor is applicable for main drive of trolley bus. The travel distance could be increased from 4-6KM to 8-10KM after one charge. That means the trolley bus which has fast charge/discharge rate and long life circle are only need to be charged at the first and terminal station. There are 60,000 in-service city buses need to be upgraded each year in mainland China. 584 million KW/h of electricity will be saved and 6.7 million tons of carbon dioxide emission will be reduced if we use super capacitor as the main drive power for all trolley buses.
